I haven’t been laid off, but my best friend’s fiancé was from his chemical engineering job. He got a severance package, but unfortunately didn’t find a new job for over a year, and they didn’t help him or anyone else with that. I would tell him to start searching for a new job right now, even if he hasn’t actually been laid off yet. Just to be prepared
