Statistically the chance is significantly more slim. It’s like being afraid of a coconut falling on ur head and killing you. Like sure it can happen, but it probably won’t

yeah, I’m certainly not here to gloss over the heavily skewed statistical ratio. it just bothers me a lot to see people talk as if that means female-on-male interpersonal violence is simply a non-issue

I wouldn’t really expect ppl to validate a fear of having coconuts falling on ur head. Broader societal issues tend to have statistical backings to prove that it’s something that needs to be addressed at a larger scale

who’s expecting people to validate any fears? that’s a weirdly dismissive reframing of what I said. I’m well aware of the difference in scale between systemic misogyny vs individual instances of abuse / violence, and I’m not attempting to draw any attention away from the former

basically it’s good to have compassion for victims of abuse & violence even if they’re men. and it’s not great to publicly post that men are Not at risk of abuse or violence at the hands of female romantic partners
