1.) You have a misconception of how DEI works. It’s for qualified minorities (e.g., women, POC). Fun fact: white women have benefited from DEI the most. 2.) “Regular people”? You mean white people?😂 Men? White men? Right right. And the rest of us are just non-regulars. Typical language use making you guys the center of the universe while we’re labeled as “others”. Ofc DEI feels like reverse oppression when you’re so used to the system historically benefiting just you and excluding everyone else.

Student debt relief would cost orders of magnitude more than war… six months of the Iran war has cost about 48 billion, student debt relief is in the trillions. It’s unfair to put that on the taxpayer.

I actually did. I worked 20-30 hours a week waiting tables. I met my two best friends working retail and we all decided to get jobs as waiters so we could do college. One is a nurse, one is an engineer, and I have an equally good job. If you work through college, you’ll also be infinitely more respected by employers (by a lot). You can still make it in this world even if everything isn’t handed to you on a silver platter.

People have said things like this for the last decade. Everyone I went to university with that wasn’t working said almost exactly the same thing. Meanwhile, anyone competent could have walked in the door at any table waiting job I’ve ever had and gotten hired instantly. You’re only a victim if you choose to be one.

Also, are you aware that you can easily come home with 100+ dollars in tips a night for just 4ish hours of work waiting tables? It’s hard work, but anyone competent can get a job doing it and it’s perfect if you’re going to university. You can make all the excuses you want, but this is the reality.

i’ve actually gotta disagree with you there. it is incredibly difficult to find a job right now. you go in the store? they tell you to apply online. you call them? they tell you to apply online. i have years of customer and food service experience, there’s no reason why it should be difficult. i put in 30+ online applications, got 3 interviews and nailed ONE job. it was probably the worst and most abusive job i’ve ever worked. things are different.
