Well for 80% of amerikkkas history, minorities especially black people were underrepresented. Like how Amerikkka underrepresents its fellow states like Puerto Rico and when we give one of their biggest stars in the country AND WORLD a Super Bowl performance, you see the racism leak out of people like it’s happening to you now lol.

cuz of the centuries of oppression thing and lack of black representation. why would white people need MORE representation?

Shego’s character isnt tied to her race whilst most non white characters race is important to the character. You typically don’t see non white characters with race not central to their character because often times white is seen as the default. A show that imo does a very good job at reversing this to a certain extent is abbot elementary where making the white characters black wouldn’t work

Not really everyone is just soft. Surround yourself with better people who can just enjoy art.

Would you get upset if a green character was turned blue? If so get a grip

Why not just…make more black characters…come up with new black characters…making white characters black doesn’t actually do what people think it does…like at all It just makes ppl mad and then there’s more hate and discourse and more racism being spread If you want to call white washing racist while excusing this you need to look at yourself and wonder why you think you want to see yourself as a character that is well known to be white…

1. It’s really hard to make new characters and concepts that’s why so much stuff gets reboots (duh) 2. In reboots, you don’t wanna watch the same thing over, so change up the plot a little and the characters. (duh) it’s fantasy so it doesn’t matter. 3. Most characters rewritten is to make young children feel represented like how white men love Batman, Spiderman, Superman etc. that’s why the new Spiderman is Black and Puerto Rican an it’s one of the best characters Marvel has made in a long time

1 it’s really not 💀 hell I myself can create some completely different characters with completely different backgrounds and experiences and stories rn 2 a reboot isn’t supposed to change everything like you just mentioned it’s supposed to remake it and refine it or in some cases (like teen titans and teen titans go) make it sillier 3 miles morales is a completely different character than Peter Parker same as Miguel O’Hara they aren’t changing the character because they aren’t the same character

you can do both but actually why would it make a white person upset for a white character to be made black genuinely what is the reason to be upset

well yes it does-people do already make their own characters that represent them first of all but redraws of already existing well known characters is because they like THAT character and lots of people like THAT character and would like to see themselves represented by them

Just making more black characters isn’t difficult at all it just isn’t a priority for animation studios and it hasn’t been for a really long time. The difference between whitewashing and blackwashing is that whitewashing is done to elliminate representation, while blackwashing is done to create representation.

If you’re arguing about how miles morales is a completely different character from Peter Parker, why don’t we talk about the fact that Teen Titans go robin is a completely different character from Teen Titans robin. TT Robin is a skilled, well respected leader, who’s dealing with deep personal issues. While TTG Robin is a narcissistic, insecure, perfectionist piece of shit. They are NOT THE SAME! it’s not about a difference in character, you’re just offended when you see brown and black people
