Something that has helped me w this issue is identifying what I’m feeling then why until you get to the root of the issue then decide how to solve it. I.e. what: I feel mad-> why: because you hurt my feelings -> what hurt my feelings -> why did it hurt-> and so on.. then you can deal with the root issue. You got this, emotional intelligence is multifaceted and a difficult skill to build. Recognizing it is the first step!
