Does it make sense that my partner got upset that I made plans to hang out with friends for a few hours on a shared day off after I said I was fine with them doing a whole weekend getaway with friends?

No doesn’t make sense. Me personally I wouldn’t mind but would appreciate if they said something like, “hey just to give you a heads up I’m going to hang out with some friends this upcoming day off around [time].” Especially if we would normally hang out on shared days off just so I know in case I have to schedule an appointment or want to plan ahead to get something done or whatever.

Yup! Sounds like a relationship! If you care about them and want to be with them find a happy medium. Maybe tell them that you’re only going to hang out with the friends for a few hours and that you guys can do something after or something like that.

I just moved the plans to a different day, it’s more inconvenient but I’d rather not deal with them being in a mood
