Just know there are some people taking a major they hate, but it’s the only major they can afford. Everyone doesn’t come for a silver spoon.

Or how about this: make college affordable for everyone. Like many people getting FAFSA only get up to $13k, $11k after the fees. What’s that going to do for a $35k tuition every semester? And then you’ll say, “Well, take out loans.” Many people who are in poverty tend not to have satisfactory credit, so therefore they don’t qualify. The system wasn’t built to make poor people win. Everybody deserves a fair chance at a better education, and today you can’t get most jobs without some degree.

I’m a little confused here bc most colleges charge by credit? So unless you’re spending a significantly larger amount of time in school, most 4 year majors will cost legit the exact same amount

To this I argue then don’t be in college???? There’s hundreds of ways to make (and save) money so you can get the degree for the career you want. Or, if you’re gonna be miserable bc your dream job really is unattainable, be miserable without tens of thousands in debt. People HAVE to stop going to college just to go to college. It doesn’t guarantee better jobs, more money, or more success. It only guarantees debt

No, they don’t. Most colleges charge different rates for each major. I was a CJ major and paid $20k a semester. I switched to psychology and paid $15k a semester.
