it’s more like “i hope i don’t compulsively say anything inappropriate” and then it comes out. on its own. compulsively. that’s how the disability works

maybe dont go to an awards show if you've known for 40+ years of life that you have a disability that might take the spotlight off of somebody else

so here r the reasons why those solutions wouldnt go over very well: tics dont work like regular thoughts so ppl w tics dont really know what theyre going to say before they say it, they can try to cover their mouth but that doesnt stop the tic from happening & they dont usually know when its going to happen so its not like they can anticipate it & leave beforehand. & taping their mouth shut is actually so ludicrous😭 it feels like smth that would be done in the olden days when we understood

bc unfortunately if ppl w tics thought this way they wouldnt ever be able to do anything or go anywhere bc *every* situation can be "ruined" by them having tics. going to a park. oh no theres kids. shoot. dont say anything inappropriate. aaaand too late. well they shouldnt have gone to the park bc they put themselves in that position. going to the grocery store. the cashier is openly gay. dont say anything offensive dont say any- again too late! u get what i mean?
