This isn’t a take I’ve seen before. I feel like if anything the religions with flawed non-omnipotent gods kind of make more sense because you don’t have a problem of evil.

Can god not be omnipotent and also allow free will. To know what will happen is not the same as making it happen. Plus at least in Christian lore everyone is saved because Jesus sacrificed himself. It’s not quite the same in Judaism and Islam because they don’t believe Jesus was the messiah and instead was just a prophet. As for eastern religions that shit is much too complicated to explain on yikyak. My buddy has a family god that lives in a temple in the mountains of China… a flying monkey…

You can't be omnipotent and also allow free will, it doesn't make sense. If you know before a person exists all the "choices" they will make in life and you created them in such a way that they would make those choices, that's not free will. If you know what will happen and you made the reality in which it happens, then you made it happen. And the whole "everyone is saved bc of Jesus" makes it even dumber to me because obviously if you still have to earn your way to heaven then you aren't saved

Yea the saved part first: that’s just what it’s called I didn’t coin “being saved” and I think it does make sense because you don’t have to earn your way into heaven. Jesus died for your sins meaning that from his death onwards sin is forgiven. In regards to the former neither of us are omnipotent nor omnipowerful meaning maybe there is a way to create life where you create the circumstances but don’t force the outcome. I think that’s the ultimate difference. It’s like rooting a plant, even if

… you did know exactly how the plant would grow you didn’t force it to be that way other than by planting it in the spot in the first place. Knowing exactly what will happen is not forcing exactly what will happen. I think that’s fundamentally different.
