my phone addiction is so bad I thought tiktok was the problem but i just replaced it with binge watching tv shows and yt vids. It’s like I HAVE to get that screen time. I’m depressed af and have no motivation to do stuff

If you don’t mind me making a suggestion: I crochet and knit and watch yt or tv. It helps take some of that shame/guilt away from “wasting time”. Find a hobby you like and that time could be considered productive

switch to longer forms of media. if you cant keep attention for thirty seconds, try to watch a minute clip of something cool. microlearning is super good at making you feel productive. then switch to 7 min videos that are educational or edifying to your life. Then podcasts or documentaries. watching long things makes you feel good and like you completed something.

Same, like the other commenter said it only gets better when I find productive stuff to keep me from it. When I’m drawing I’m too busy to think about my phone. I also put an alarm on my tiktok that warns me when I’ve been on it for more than an hour, doesn’t always help but makes me think more abt how I’m spending my time

consider consuming nonfiction content no matter what, it helps you feel good and it stretches your brain
