As a very sick individual, this is deeply frustrating. All the mental illness LARPers (not even fully their fault, ik), have near fully taken away the severity of these serious diseases, and made our lives 1000000000000x fucking worse/harder.

A. A lot of 'mental illness' is just the average human condition B. When poor innocent ppl just looking for some help are given a false diagnosis (for profit), they tend to study tf out of the illness, and go through the motions. They end up placeboing themselves, which makes sense. Valid in such a situation.
