Manufacturing/process/industrial. I have a weird title, I’d just say my job is to improve processes and make stuff happen. My department is currently short-staffed and the company is making some big changes, so I’m also doing some coordinating and physically intensive stuff that you wouldn’t expect an engineer to have to do lol

Also, I had a performance review with my boss the other day and he basically told me I should take the rest of the year to learn and that “you will be a true engineer next year”

Yeah, I’m still getting paid, he just wants me to be really trained up bc I think he wants to promote me to be his assistant manager at some point, maybe even replace him someday

No, like idk if you understand, I’m in a great position with this. I’ll probably be an engineer II within like 2 years

And at that point, I’ll be in a pretty good position relative to my peers and be able to work somewhere else if I’d like and get a good recommendation from the boss
