The fact that being cheated on takes away someone’s foundational ability to be able to trust the people around them, who say they care about them, and who they always assumed would never hurt them, is one of the biggest reasons why cheating is so unforgivable. easier said than done, but this is why as adults we have to try and heal from past relationships so that we’re not bringing the baggage into new ones. bc you shouldn’t have to question every relationship you’re in. i understand being cautious, but being untrusting just sounds exhausting and like a burden you shouldn’t have to carry anymore
