Hey friend. I just want to say I went through something very very similar, though my father was in the police/fire realm rather than military. It was hell, every day, for 18 years. So bad I decided it was better to be homeless, which I was for the better part of a year. I fully agree with you, toxic is toxic, and you should always put yourself first. I know what that kinda experience can do to a person, so if you ever want to talk, lmk. Trust me, it’s been years and I still struggle every day
