Thinking about when my dad found out my boyfriend wasn’t black and started sending me a bunch of black history videos and facts…funny thing is I already knew everything he sent. Idk why he assumed I hated myself just bc my bf wasn’t black. Projection?

Well, if your dad is black, then it kind of makes sense because sometimes black fathers feel like they failed when their daughters choose a man that isn’t black. The same phenomenon happens for Mothers too. So I wouldn’t necessarily call it projection unless he also dates out his race
