Thank you like I know it’s not about me I truly feel for her I really do and I pray she’s okay especially with this everywhere and people are picking her story apart and there’s so much bullshit she’s so brave for the lawsuit It breaks me knowing this would’ve been a similar outcome if I ever shared my story I hate that people are making it out to be joke I hate that people are cherry picking I hate that it’s everywhere I hate that there’s people who don’t see the wrong in it
I hate knowing most men like this are around us I hate that so many guys posting about it speaking out abt it saying their against it have best friends that have done it and so many of them are rapists and have assaulted women but DONT see what they did in their eyes as assault it just fucking sucks
It’s tempting to imagine that the world is getting worse and feel paranoid of what comes next, but depending on how you look at it, the world has always been crazy. We’re just seeing it for the first time. People have always been the worst threat to other people. It doesn’t excuse what happens today but I like to think that we’re like the latest generation from a life of suffering like those sea turtles racing to the water
I think that one thing that always stood out about shitty communities of people is that we never notice the ones that just have a normal opinion about something like that rape is bad unless they’re putting it on blast or its shocking enough for the news to become mainstream. I think its a side effect of the news. Not just evil corrupted outlets but the idea of what can make something go viral
Take politics for example. Each side hates the other because they view them as at their most deranged. It’s notable and leaves a more lasting impression than a guy who voted with this policy for a personal reason but isn’t visibly defensive about it. The parts that stand out amongst both sides are the radicalists and I feel like that applies to every community in a weird way if that makes sense
I don’t think it was ever meant to be normal. I think its like how every other community about a horrible crime takes place. Amongst us. People you meet in line somewhere who could turn out to be on the news for being a serial killer, people who are pedophiles don’t introduce themselves as it, they’re in hiding and that’s why it feels normalized. They’re everywhere but most of the time its never who you expect and I think that’s the source of most paranoia behind evil people
One thing I always think about is if there were more creeps commonly out there, I’m surprised there wouldn’t be more news of them being publicly beaten the shit out of. I don’t think its because nobody cares to stop them, I think its because its easier to be forward about it online than in public. I think if it was normalized they would be more publicly open about it or associate their faces with it
Idk it probably doesn’t make sense but it’s just hard to imagine that that many people don’t give a shit. Maybe its the internet allowing dogshit opinions to form behind anonymity because I never see people in person who defend rapists as common as online. Even the ones that do never usually defend them by justifying the act of rape itself, but more with claiming that they’re not so that kind of behavioral detail gives me a slight amount of hope that it’s still something largely frowned upon.l
