Idk if you were on the same thread talking about this last night but yeah, it doesn’t even matter what your major or career experience is. I know pilots and engineers who can’t get jobs after applying to dozens every week

It really boils down to who you know and clinging onto that, unfortunately. I networked with the right people and got my full time offer locked in 8 months early

Unfortunately #4 is right. When the market is shit you really gotta lean on networking. Who do you know from college? Are you on good terms with any professors who have connections? Old business cards from job fairs? What industries are your parents in? Who do they know? Etc. It can feel like playing dirty but honestly you do what you gotta do atp, and BROADEN YOUR CRITERIA. This is not the time to be looking for your dream job. Just pray you get one in your field or a related one

^^ I got my first job in my career in 2022, stayed there for 2 years then had to move and find a new job. I applied to so many but the only one I got even a reply from was the one my former boss had a connection with. I don’t think I would’ve found one without that, despite my new boss saying there’s a huge deficit in people in my position nationwide
