I think it is unbelievably cowardice and pathetic to have voted for Trump, secretly support him, then lie about it because you don’t want ppl to judge you. If you’re going to be ignorant and hateful, you better at least own up to it, loser

Ooo the great rollback is going to be one for the books; the way people are taking down the MAGA signs and not wearing the hats as much it’s actually funny. They were loud before and getting quiet now. They don’t want that to be attached to them anymore, interesting.

people grow and change. you shouldn’t be beholden to what you thought the day you turned 18

When ppl actually do, i completely agree. Most ppl are still just as hateful and prejudice, they just don’t want the social ramifications

Absolutely people grow and change but you don’t get to hide a part of yourself you made your personality and life for years and then one day decide that it should be deleted and nobody needs to know cause your ashamed. No you acknowledge what you did, don’t backtrack and erase, move forward and admit you were wrong, grew and learned but don’t pretend it didn’t occur.

social media wasn’t a thing before 20 years ago. the idea of even being able to carry a receipt of your past wasn’t even a thing before then. you got to move past wherever you were and present who you are now. and that’s how it should be. idc if you went to prison, or cheated on your husband, or voted for Bernie in 2024. who are you today? who is the person who stands in front of me now?

Except that’s not true, we have videos and footage of people being awful humans since what the 50’s and 60’s during prime time integration and those are some peoples meemaws and peepaws who are alive today, ruby bridges is 70 yrs old and on TikTok. We are told what happens online stays online but yet in the day and age of that people are willingly and knowingly choosing to be a pos because people should be allowed to mistakes, well some things you can’t learn and comeback from.

yeah so we didn’t attach to like a receipt to every single individual with a running tally. you could go do something incredibly stupid and sometime later go “dang yk that’s not really who i wanna be” and that would be that. we didn’t have selfies documenting every time we stepped out of the house. and lot of that video is groups doing something and then people realized they didn’t want to be associated with that group any longer.

No, many people have stuck by those thoughts and clearly taught that behavior to their kids and grandkids for people to still be exhibiting said feelings and now doing worse in a time and period where cameras are prevalent and those choices follow you. Yes I will shame one for being an ignorant pos at any age they are at. You can grow and learn but that doesn’t mean you can back track and erase the past hurt and damage you may have inflicted.

We can judge someone for who they were then and who they are now. Sometimes the only way to believe who a person is now and that they’ve truly changed is because they admit who they were before, express genuine remorse and sincerity to being better and acknowledge their past not hide it. Chances are if you hide it it’s not because you feel ashamed, you’re are embarrassed that it exists out there in the world in a narrative you can’t control because there’s video evidence.

That’s the difference of genuine growth through remorse or cowardice and hiding who you are. Acknowledgement and acceptance of your past.
