It’s a bad thing when your therapist says that you may be beyond their help, right?

Idk I’ve been told that before too. Depending on how they said it , may mean they don’t have experience in your particular issue, yall just aren’t a good match, ur therapist is a prick, or maybe u just fr beyond helping idk.

As a future therapist, just means it’s not in their particular skill set/ area or they weren’t trained for it, but another therapist that is willing to be able to help you, however it is their job to help you find said therapist

It happened to me. It doesn’t mean you’re too far gone or broken. It means they want you to see someone more equipped for your situation. I was very upset at the time but I realize now she wanted me to get the help I needed and deserved.

I mean probably not a great thing… but could also be a somewhat neutral thing, not all therapists are equipped to deal with all things

My current therapist said to me because I was beyond livid someone told me this. Most times they mean they themselves can not help you specifically. So seeking another specialist is probably what they were trying to say.

Not to beat a dead horse and say what everyone else has said but yeah it’s not necessarily a bad thing it just means you would benefit from someone with more experience. This is honestly a sign of a good therapist because it shows they care about you as a client instead of just milking you for money knowing you could benefit more from a different therapist
