
OP is 100% right. In saying that though we went from a system where a average single income could support a family (buy a home, car, feed the family etc) to a system that insists on dual or extraordinary income to match that standard of living. However, women and more broadly the family unit lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-40 hours that previously went to making the home, raising and supporting the family unit. I learned about it in a GE class but very interesting
