nothing wrong with long distance relationships or wanting an older partner, but imo if you’re yearning for something similar, your best bet would be to look for someone who’s 21-or-under on an app less anonymous than this one someone over the age of 21 who deliberately pursues an 18 year-old is a bit questionable, cause that’s just enough of a power imbalance where the older partner could exert too much influence over you without even being conscious that that’s what they’re doing

and the whole setup of this app means that two people finding a genuine safe ongoing connection with one another is the exception rather than the rule. it’s extremely easy to lie about who you are or ghost people on here, there’s no real baseline of transparency. sites like tumblr or twitter are usually better for meeting new people

most people your age don’t “think that deep” about this stuff (through no fault of your own! just an issue of life experience), and older men know that. that’s a huge piece of what motivates them to seek significantly younger partners to exploit. that’s why I’m trying to offer you a bit of cautionary advice 18 & 21 is still an age gap! just, like, a comparatively safe one
