i think this is true to a degree but i cannot be friends with somebody who is racist or homophobic bc how you gonna disagree with my existence but then still try to be cool with me

disagreements are fine but not when it comes to human rights and decency. i’m not going to be friends with an immoral person.

That’s also true, but I do think there’s disagreements that can be had that also don’t dehumanize me. Like I’m a black man, I can’t be friends with somebody who thinks being black is wrong, but I also wouldn’t hate that person, I’d go out of my way to show love to them because they evidently don’t know what that is
