
I had such a similar experience trying to put myself out there. One thing that helped me was reminding myself that, with my severe anxiety, even going to these things was a huge step for me and that whoever I meet at the event is just another reason to disprove my anxious thoughts :)
It happens some times, don’t beat urself up abt it. The thing we want most is on the other side of our comfort zone. You can always start again, ask to hang out again. This time will be different bc you have experience now. Experience of how it made you feel not going. Now you can do the opposite. You got this stranger :)
