Because most can, I’m sure you’ve seen all those men vs women challenge videos, even that one island one. Men have more muscle to fat ratios where women have more fat to muscle. We are each independently skilled in our own way but in terms of raw strength. Men are just biologically built with it.
I don’t think it’s ego when you literally have high school boys capable of beating professional female athletes in certain sports. There are some inescapable biological differences in physical ability between men and women. Are there outliers, of course, but that doesn’t change the baseline. Average men can physically out perform an average woman and even in some case professional female athletes. Those are simply facts.
Why do you think the WNBA exists or battle of the sexes competitions are so rare? Men wipe the floor with women even when is a massive disparity in ranking within their fields. The best women in a sport losing to amateur male athletes. Now that’s not exactly what the OP is describing but it’s pretty close and I think it’s illustrative of the physical differences in capability.
Ok, imma say, not every sport is the same, lots require specialized technique HOWEVER males have around 38% of body mass as muscle whereas women have 30% that’s nearly a 25% difference in strength. So we’re gonna throw harder, jump higher, punch stronger. Gives a serious advantage. Which is the whole reason men’s and women’s sports are separate.
“Extensive scientific research, including a consensus statement from the American College of Sports Medicine, shows that adult men typically outperform women in athletic tasks requiring strength, speed, and power by 10% to 30” https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37772882/ You’re asking for proof of the obvious because you have no counter argument to what is an actual evident, established biological fact.
That study doesn’t prove your claim 😭 It compares men and women of similar training status. OP is talking about average untrained men beating professional female athletes at their actual sport. Even research showing untrained men outperform trained women on certain strength tests doesn’t establish that. You need a study that actually tests the claim you made
You need to work on your reading comprehension and what I actually said. As opposed to responding to an argument I didn’t make. Although I suppose it’s easier to clap back a straw man than defend the indefensible. We need to first establish the known biological differences between men and women and I think it’s undisputed. After that we can explore more of the nuances like what OP is referring to.
Nobody disputed biological differences between men and women. OP made a specific claim about average untrained men beating professional female athletes, and you responded with a study that doesn’t test that claim. Now you’re saying the study was only meant to establish a different point that nobody was arguing against. That’s literally my point.
https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/a-dallas-fc-under-15-boys-squad-beat-the-u-s-womens-national-team-in-a-scrimmage/ “FC Dallas under-15 boys squad beat the U.S. Women's National Team in a scrimmage” This isn’t a study obviously but one of countless recent examples that come to mind.
idk if you can use an example where the article itself says the women weren’t going all out. bc why would they risk getting injured during what was basically a practice game for them to learn how to work together? no one is saying men aren’t stronger than women on average but a professional athlete is not 100% going to be beaten by an untrained man just bc she’s a woman
Those were 15 year old boys, how experienced compared to these professional female athletes do you think they were? You think they’re comparable? That’s either really impressive for those boys or pretty sad for the women. Either way it’s another high profile case of amateur men destroying professional female athletes.
did you actually read the article? they were playing a game for fun. the women weren’t going all out, probably to prevent any injuries before their actual game. the average person is not being trained at a sports academy. that’s the entire point of this! no one is saying men on average aren’t stronger/faster than women but regardless of gender someone who is UNTRAINED is not going to be able to beat a professional. also describing it as ‘destroying’ them is an interesting choice of words
That’s a convenient excuse by the professional woman’s team isn’t it? They get their ass handed to them by 15 year old boys and according to them they “weren’t going all out”. LOL 😭That’s embarrassing and uncompelling from a professional team doing everything to rationalize how disastrous they performed against literal children.
