my grandpa just died but my dad was never close with him and tbh i was never close with either but my dad left suddenly this morning and won’t respond to anyone should i just text him and let him know i love him? we’ve never been good at sharing feelings

totally different situation but i haven’t talked to my dad in 3 years out, and last week i just texted him “i love you” after hearing his mom died. they weren’t that close, but i know he appreciated it

It’s probably really hard on him and maybe he’s trying to not show you in person. I wouldn’t reach out to him
