?? There are Trump supporters who make art, are scientists, are avid readers, are empaths, and work with charities or charity work like I don’t get the generalization and completely false statements (I know this because of Trump supporters I know personally and know of)

Like it’s fine to not like them or think Trump supporters are all dumb but it’s just stereotyping and dehumanization and lack of critical thinking skills

Trumps policies go directly against science. He literally is responsible for defunding scientific research. Individual supporters may very well be artists, scientists, etc. but they are not those things because of the movement. The movement as a whole is anti-science, anti-education, anti-empathy.

Cutting grants isn’t the same thing as rejecting science. A lot of federal research had become too politicized, the administration specifically targeted grants that were outside core scientific priorities. The argument was that taxpayer money should focus more on medicine, engineering, energy, defense, and economically useful research compared to activism centered projects. Sure , some legitimate research I’m sure was affected, but overall you can’t claim it’s anti science

And for MAGA as a whole, the main “goals” would be stronger borders, “America first” economics, lower taxes, energy independence, reducing federal power and giving more power to the states, protection of free speech, military strength, parental rights in education, etc. Different values does not equal useless.

when “stronger borders” has turned into blatant racism and murder, and ‘military strength’ is training our agents with IDF soldiers, it’s no longer simply a difference of values but a question of humanity. /If/ the Epstein files do hold true, wouldn’t you rather be on the side that’s against rape and cannibalism and pedophilia and all of the other atrocities of the elite? Why do you call others woke—would you prefer to stay sleeping? Staying a good dormant and complacent cog in the machine?

how many more people need to be tortured and brutalized and murdered here and millions of miles away before we can all turn to each other and band together?

There is not blatant racism and murder, those are buzz words with now evidence. Each side is against rape, cannibalism, etc. Their opinions on who is guilty of it is not the same.

First source- the article repeatedly jumps from “abuse or misconduct may have occurred” to implying that everyone who supports strict immigration enforcement supports cruelty. That’s an overgeneralization. Supporting border security, deportation policy, or stronger immigration enforcement is not the same thing as supporting unlawful violence or abuse by officers. Plus, it’s so biased to list those deaths and then not even acknowledge the fact that most or all of those were likely because the **

Suspect was either violent towards the officers, trying to kill them, or actively causing danger.

Your second source makes 0 sense in relation to MAGA supporting torture, brutalization and murder. The source is trying to claim that Israel training military with the US is some kind of torture scheme. “Israel is accused of abuses, conservatives support Israel, therefore conservatives support abuse.”

Your child marriage link seems irrelevant as California is a largely democrat state, so I don’t get why you included that to bag on Republicans

Your last source just becomes overgeneralized because it assumes that support for Israel automatically means support for every “alleged” action committed by Israeli authorities. That is not how political support usually works. Many conservatives support Israel because they view it as a democratic ally, because of religious beliefs, or because they prioritize counterterrorism and national security. That does not automatically mean they support abuse of prisoners, if the allegations are true.

I think the only source that even makes sense with your argument and has any ground are the Israel abuse claims, which are of course concerning, but again, supporting Israel does not mean we support any prisoner abuse that may have happened. You don’t even know if the allegations are true, or if the Israeli government knew about the alleged abuse. https://www.hrw.org/report/2012/10/03/abusive-system/failures-criminal-justice-gaza

grants are essential to doing scientific work and blindly cutting any grant that mentions RNA among other extremely common scientific nomenclature is wildly unscientific and reactionary. it was directly anti science and specifically anti science that was seen to be in any way related to culture war nonsense. you just don’t know anything about scientific research or professional academia, and are weirdly willing to ignore reality to run defense for the trump admin

The cuts primarily targeted DEI Initiatives. They in no way cut grants specifically because they are anti-science, and it’s completely legal for them to cancel grants that are inconsistent with policy priorities. The Supreme Court allowed $783 million in DEI-linked grant terminations to proceed x

they cut funding for anything using the word RNA, cut research for infectious disease including hantavirus the infectious disease found on that cruise ship everyone is worried about. not to mention blind cuts to anything to do with women or research that mentioned the word “gender”. it was blind cuts from a list of culture war buzzwords that make idiots like you so blind with rage your brain goes number that it already is in your day to day life
