I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever eat a dog but if you have a problem is it any different than any other meat? Strange hill to die on. I will still have a problem
Hot take: I don’t eat dog meat but anyone who clowns on my race for eating it while not being vegetarian or vegan themselves actually pmo. Stop acting like you have the moral high ground making an argument that’s purely emotion based.

OOP here: I’m not saying you should I’m just saying the people who act like eating dog is some grave unforgivable sin and terrible crime against humanity while eating other meat especially other mammal meat need to take a good look at themselves and realize they’re being hypocrites

there are many things I don’t eat because they make me squeamish but I realize that’s something personal to me and not a value or moral judgement or lacking to the person eating it

Every culture on earth has had to eat dogs and cats and horses during a time of famine. I can dislike a negative stereotype of a culture while still tolerating the culture itself. To me it sounds like you’re trying to justify eating dogs instead of fighting a negative stereotype. I don’t eat shark either but it’s because they’re vulnerable and need protection because so many catch and eat them for their fins. There wouldn’t be an org like the World Dog Alliance if it wasn’t a big deal.

It depends on what you view as inhumane because everything tastes like chicken and can be eaten at the end of the day, even people. And you could make the same argument about eating human. How much more different is a dog than a person? Less than most animals we do eat, and that’s where the disgust comes from

a wild animal being in danger of extinction (sharks, sea turtle eggs, rare seafood) is a very valid reason and justification to be being against eating it but that’s not what I’m arguing

And yeah my main argument is eating dogs is no worse than eating pigs or cows. And people who oppose it while being not against all factory farming or all meat are hypocrites and virtue signalers

Yes sure the world dog alliance exists but imagine if Arabs and Jews formed a world pig alliance. Would be silly right? It seems to me that people who have so much against other people eating dogs are listening to their emotions and letting their emotions control them instead of thinking critically and letting your rationality set your emotions

Personally I’m somewhat indifferent to dogs but I do love cats so we shall use this as an example. Now I find cats adorable and could never stomach eating one. Even the thought makes me sad. But can I get mad at someone else for eating them? I know I can’t without being a hypocrite because I eat pork, beef, chicken, and eggs too. My lifestyle supports suffering on sentient beings and this is a moral pitfall I have. So for me to advocate against eating cats for it being cruel…

while I contribute to animal cruelty by eating other animals is an absolutely ridiculous position to be in and is really just the pot calling the kettle black. That’s it. Meat eaters who oppose dog meat specifically are the pot calling the kettle black.

also cannibalism is completely separate bc it is not an arbitrary line drawn. Consuming your own species actively impedes its survival. Whereas which animals your culture chooses to eat and to not eat is for the most part arbitrary nowadays. Partially based on tradition (or risks in the past) and partially based on how your culture or lifestyle allocates animals. Entirely arbitrary. There’s no moral value assigned to them. So to act like there is is simply ridiculous

Nah fam you gotta go full vegan at this point because either the suffering of sentient animals is justified from your full stomach or it isn’t. The only animal on earth that is sentient is us, because we can’t prove otherwise. Either it’s all ok or it isn’t, and ethics has aesthetic criteria that people will use as exceptions to the rule. If you hold a pig, a cat, and a person on the same level of meat then yes it’s the same but nobody does

Millions of animals are cannibals and it does have evolutionary advantages and drawbacks that humans never had to deal with

yeah I’ve made peace with the fact that my choice of eating animals is at least somewhat morally in the gray area whether that’s a lighter or darker shade we don’t know. However I also recognize the choice of what animals I choose to eat are completely arbitrary and so long as another persons choice isn’t causing more harm than mine (ie by eating endangered animals from the wild) I have no right to clown on them.

sure but do humans lay 10000 eggs at a time? no so it’s not the strategy we were assigned as humans
