Once you find the right therapist it’ll be one of the best decisions you’ve made

i’ve been in therapy for 10 years and it has saved my life. it took me a really long time to find a therapist that works well with me, but that was also before i was an active participant in my own healing. therapy does work when you have the correct therapy type and a therapist that works well with you. i absolutely recommend. if you need recommendations on where to start, you can dm me and i can help! or you can look online if you would rather. good luck!

Yes. But there are different ways it can help and you have to know which one you need! If you need the actual psychological help of someone who understands the brain to help you cope with things and understand what’s happening, then talk therapy would be helpful! If you are struggling with ptsd, then something like EMDR therapy would be helpful!

It truly depends on the person. Personally, therapy was unnecessary after I got out of the psych ward because I finally had a fitting diagnosis and did the research and work completely on my own. Therapy took way too long to help me. But like other people in the comments are saying, it can be incredibly helpful if you find the right therapist and method for you. Some therapists suck, some are god’s gift to earth. It’s just trial and error unfortunately

You might just need someone to help hold you accountable on things which you can request for talk therapy (also known as CBT / cognitive behavioral therapy) and they will help you set goals and keep a schedule or boundaries.

It’s best to figure out your goals for therapy before going into a therapist so you down waste your time and money on something that won’t help, so deciding what you really need is a good idea

you can call any therapy companies you might be interested in and ask about what sort of coverage your insurance will get you. my mom works for a mental health company as an insurance specialist, and i believe cigna covers iirc. you can try looking up different companies. most offer some fort of telehealth if you find that therapy from home interests you, or most offer an in office location as well
