Ehm… the mafia??….. the economic boom in the north of Italy that completely fucked over the southern economy?…. Domestic abuse? Rampant homophobia? But mostly an atrocious economy— in Italy it’s called La fuga di cervelli which means “the flight of brains” where the people who get educated enough leave because of better economic opportunity elsewhere (I’m a full 1st gen Italian New Yorker btw)

Sometimes it’s not all about the view it’s about not having religious freedom or tyrannical government.

The Italians who moved to NJ did not see that. That’s northern Italy, probably Piemonte or Alto Adige/Süd Tirol, close to Switzerland/Austria. Sicily, Naples, Puglia, Calabria do not look remotely close to that picture.

I feel obligated to say NJ is a beautiful state. Those of you who think it’s “not that nice” probably think of Newark or Trenton. It’s be like saying Ohio is gross because of Toledo and Cleveland.

I understood every word, I wrote it duh. Did you lol tf. lol I’m telling you Italians didn’t go to Jersey cause they liked it honey it ain’t that nice although not pumping your own gas is. Italians especially northern and especially venetian are very fucking rude and Jersey fits that personality.

But when I say Italians I’m not talking these Italian Americans who are first, second, third gen’s that have never been Italy. Im talking about the homeland, as someone who’s been multiple times because the nation is beautiful but the people they are rude. It’s kinda like France, amazing to visit when you dont see any French people cause they are rude.

The traits one referring to are being passed down over there so yeah, I can do that; you might not like it but I can, how are you going to stop me. This world works on generalizations.

Alright in Sicily, by my account and geography is south so not like the north which is what I referenced. So since you lived there, is there not a difference between Northern and Southern Italians?

Nope they aren’t, I’ll agree South Italians are about that sometimes but North are all talk but I digress. My point was they didn’t choose New Jersey, they settled for it but at least they have someone who caters to them at the gas station.

Naples actually resembles 1970s NYC. Like the really poor and violent parts.

Making up opinions about why OTHER people chose NJ shows your ignorance. Talk to an immigrant bro, they’re not gonna tell you they “settled” for anything
