I’m so confused. Your guy friend taught you “ang ganda eekoy(ee-COW??)” but she said “angah nee(???) moh”. If that’s what happened then they’re both wrong. You’re pretty actually means “ang gan-dah MOH”

Many Filipino Americans who grew up here also butcher the pronunciation ngl so if she lived there for that long I’ll trust her too. What will help you is remembering that unlike English, Tagalog vowels almost never change how they sound when you see them in words. “Aeiou is Ahh-ehh-eee-ooo (like in ohmmmm 🙏) and uuu”

Also Tagalog grammar aka how you put words together in sentences is completely different from English. So maybe that’s why you heard “Ang Ganda EEKOY(???)” if that’s “ikaw” (ee-COW) that’s one of the way words for “you”. But in that sentence it’s supposed to be “Ang ganda mo.” “mo” (moh) is another way to say “you” depending on grammar
