Broadly, bc the child would not have a good life. I resent my parents for having me and they were in a better position to raise a child than I am. I wouldn’t wish that on another human being, esp my own kid

But if you picked a good agency, you’d be giving the baby to someone who actually wanted one

There’s no shortage of children to Adopt. And there’s no Reason to feed another to the system. The foster system isn’t kind. It never was.

There are 330,000 kids in the U.S. foster care system right now, 31-46% of whom will experience homelessness by age 26. Over 80% of foster kids have severe mental health issues and 25-40% experience *confirmed* abuse. These are not odds I am willing to subject another human being to.

I didn’t say foster care I said adoption. There is a difference. The main goal of Foster care is to return the child to their parents. The goal of adoption is to give a baby straight from the hospital to a loving family

Yeahhhh I wish it worked that way. Be a real sweet world. But until it does? That’s the choice I’ll always support.
