No remember that was the democrats somehow they did the shutdown even though they have no control over the office but it was them. Who cares if the house is red and republicans have control. 😐It’s all democrats fault

I grew up with snap. Even with both parents working full time it still was never enough. Did you know that at least half of city workers in NYC rely on benefits like SNAP just to get by?

The American Dream has been degraded, people living in poverty will stay in poverty. I implore you to look at the story of Isabella James, who volunteered to be homeless. You cannot claim this country was built to be fair, the system is rigged with prejudice and injustices. The argument that people abuse SNAP relies off of biases, and in the case it’s true, unfortunately that is their choice to use THIER food stamps for trading. I do come from a wealthy family, however I’m actually informed.

The problem here is that we need to audit the SNAP system - for waste and abuse. It’s not a bad concept. People find themselves impoverished against every effort to move up in the world. And we should support those people as long as they maintain those efforts. But the American electorate doesn’t have the mental capacity or patience to improve the system - they will just fall into the leftward camp of “thing good” or the rightward camp of “thing bad”.

Babes if you can abuse the system and get away with it let me know. Because it is 10x harder to abuse the system and not get caught. How tf can you move up in a country that doesn’t give af about you. Unless you’re born into wealth you have to work 20x harder because the system isn’t made to help you. Do you know that ppl who get government assistance can’t have a certain amount of savings? Also if you get rid of SNAP the cost of groceries will increase because it pays a certain percentage

Are we talking about the same country that gives tax cuts to billionaires? Are we talking about the same country that’s shutdown because they couldn’t agree on a budget? Are we talking about the same country that wants to cut healthcare, FAFSA and SNAP so they can fund their lifestyles? Are we talking about the country that allows rich politicians to get away with trafficking and money laundering? Are we talking about the country that let corrupt rich people sit at the top?

So let’s not go there because I’ll read tf out you like a book that’s never been read before. You’re ignorant, dense, uneducated, and so far fucked up nobody can save you. The fact you chose the projects says a lot about you. And ppl in the projects are the ones who have it harder trying to get approved for government assistance.

I think they have got others' well-being as a priority in their own way. They've just got such an absolutist belief in the limited role of government/the laissez faire system. The US is a very rich country. If it allocated its funds reasonably (the most obvious place to start is overseas military bases), it could pay for world class social programs without raising a single tax
