SA awareness month is extremely triggering to me as someone who was r@ped. Does anyone else feel this way? How do I actually learn to love and support this month as a survivor because that’s what I feel like I’m supposed to do.

Yes. Instead of just seeing myself as a survivor, I see myself as safe space for those that are unable to feel safe in public spaces. For example, last night at the bar. A woman was being hit on and she was uncomfortable so intervened and she sat next to me. We spoke for hours and she just needed a friend that night, not a date. I’m a woman for context reasons.

best to do is try to keep it out of your line of sight and when u do have to deal with triggers u can try to reframe and think “hopefully this stuff will prevent it from happening to someone else.”
