Hot take I hate how making people feel like shit is normalized now and it’s just called ragebaiting

It’s so much more fulfilling to be kind. Watching someone’s face completely light up after a basic compliment or kind act is such a great feeling. It’s also kinda sad how many people, like customer service workers, have gone out of the way to thank me for “being so kind” when all I did was use basic manners and be patient.

Have you not been on the internet before? It’s been going since the start of the internet. This is Pandora’s box, it can’t be closed

It’s the best!! I got into rave culture a few years ago and the difference between people there and out in everyday life is night and day. It’s always a disappointment to go back to real life after making instant friends all weekend, when trying to compliment a stranger often gets me a weird look or response :/ but I’m not gonna let that stop me

I think honestly most people assume compliments are backhanded now because of what you said in your post

It’s so sad :(( it’s awesome to find good communities online and then you go back to everyday life and people are just mean

Even on a post about how we should be kind you still find a way to be negative huh

No desire to offend, it’s more pointing out a sad truth. More ambivalence than negativity, I wish the world was kinder, I really do. But despite the time we live in, we are just continuing to do what humans always do

Yeah that’s valid. Ig I’m just saddened by the recent trend of “bro you got ragebaited!!” After someone says something incredibly offended as if that excuses their actions. It’s weird

Anonymity reduces responsibility, it’s the fusion of technology and humanity. People wouldn’t say these things out in public, but technology enables bad behavior, or good. I tend to give encouragement and want to help but some people truly want to watch the world burn. It’s the price of freedom
