That’s just how I tip, here is the logic if I had someone with me I’d spend an extra $40-$50 on their side of the bill and tip . Well I am by myself so I might as well use that extra money to put on a tip to make it a 100% tip or whatever percent of the bill it is . Sometimes they don’t say thank you , sometimes they do. You don’t do the gesture for recognition, but you at least would like to feel appreciated

ahh i see. that does make sense. i’ve never been a server so i honestly don’t know what the norm is, but i would agree that’s very generous of you and recognition would be nice and respectful.
