I feel like the phrase “I’m just a girl” is so demeaning. It makes it sound like women can’t comprehend things like we’re just lazy, dumb girls. I get that life is hard and some things can be challenging, but I hate hearing girls say that about themselves.

It started as a joke and I think a lot of women just said it so much it almost started feeling true if that makes sense.

It came from satirizing “boys will be boys.” If they can do whatever they want because they’re ’boys,’ we can do whatever we want because we’re ‘girls’

i don’t think the phrase started out that way but the wrong ppl got a hold of it and twisted it to make it annoying and almost insulting to women

I often remind myself that I am just one person navigating through life. To be honest, if I heard a guy say “I am just a boy,” it might stir some feelings in me. I understand how that phrase can be misused, and I can empathize with the struggles behind it. It's important to recognize our individual journeys and the challenges we all face. (type shit)
