1) tbh no, it’s pretty established economic theory that the least utility-discouraging tax is a consumption tax. Corporate taxes create unnecessary deadweight loss. If you want to tax the rich put a 200% luxury tax on private jets or smth 2) I don’t mind more value being accrued to those who create value

The working class creates value, dumbass. The rich amass wealth by leveraging the capital they have. The value is created by the WORKING CLASS.

What does the capital do? Get put into assets that are useful to the world. The rich don’t sit on cash in the bank. They put the money into offices and tech and infrastructure and institutions that we use every day. Markets are efficient, if you create value you will capture it. If you’re not capturing value, you’re probably not creating it. Value is created by doing things more productive than the next best alternative. If anyone can do your job, you’re not adding much value by being there

You don’t give your money to people who don’t provide you value, and you don’t give people your time and resources who pay you less than they’re worth. If the rich are collecting money, someone is consensually giving it to them because it’s a good trade for them
