Weirdly enough I think that tells me for sure that there’s something deeper to it all in this crazy world. Why do we view rape so differently from getting punched in the face? Because it violates our sense of dignity, this seems to hold true for everyone regardless of culture. So this inherent, naturally set sense of dignity reveals we’re more than just atoms bumping around, there is meaning and beauty to this facade of physical materialism

yk what’s also interesting to me which is kinda random but also touches on how SA violates our sense of dignity is how prevalent sexual assault is in the military. like with all of the torture methods, and gross violations rape is a very very big one not only within the military but also against civilians abroad, like it’s commonly used to just utterly humiliate someone to a very high degree. Or like for example frats hazing sexual assault is big there too to humiliate them

People who are made to violate dignity or have their own dignity violated, which I suppose the former results in the latter if we look at it holistically, are easier to control in the eyes of people obsessed with power I think. It’s been used as a way to showcase power and mold people’s psychologies
