M stands for Manual, but this allows you to switch gears manually as if the car was a straight drive. The S stands for Sport Mode, this automatically adjusts your transmission to accelerate the car faster.

This a bmw? Usually means Manual or Sport mode, M means you have to shift thru gears and sport means it’ll shift at a higher rpm like almost a race mode
