Ik, I'm just saying sometimes ppl think they find overly 'woke' ppl annoying, but they really just find performatively woke ppl annoying and they don't know the difference. It's one of those concepts that's purposefully been so watered down and manipulated that the meaning is almost entirely lost, so yah And 99% of the time 'Overly woke' ppl ARE just performatively woke ppl anyways

See that's how you know it's performative 'Woke' is just being aware of the goings ons of the world around you/the world you live in, and having true empathy and compassion If that's not what's going on, then it's just performative.

There are many ways people become overly woke it’s up for anyones interpretation but if you need an example one good one is : Commenting about abortion under a clearly happy pregnant woman/ woke to the point of disrespect

No performative woke and overly woke are 2 different things. A lot of people are actually serious about certain takes which doesn’t make it performative.

Oh well reading your earlier example, I've always thought those ppl were performative or just bots. Bc someone who actually cares about healthcare access wouldn't be obnoxiously blasting about it under a post of a very happy pregnant lady. They're virtue signaling, being holier than though, trying to display exaggerated radical morality on public screens. Those people don't actually care. They only care about participating in the 'I CARE MORE/THE MOST' Olympics 🙄

There's a new layer. We now live in a culture in which everyone is constantly being monitored (tech, social media), and most people are ALWAYS 'performing' online. They want to look a type of way. Sound a type of way. It's a brand, not an actual belief. A very committed bit. A bit they've committed to so hard that they can't tell the difference between actually giving a fuck, and just feeling the urge to go through the motions of publicly showing that they give a fuck. Is that making any sense?

At the end of the day, most people don't actually even know what they themselves believe in/value/etc. They're just super passionate about being passionate about something. So they align with those they gravitate towards more, or those they found themselves surrounded by the most, and just full-on rally for whatever those people are rallying for. This is true of all sides, any view/value/belief. It's very sad. You can see this through people not at all practicing what they preach.

Yes. As time goes on, the societies we live in tend to change and evolve. New layers emerge. The fact you're referring to is....? Your opinion on people who are 'too woke'? That's just not a fact, that's a very general highly debatable sentiment my guy 😭👍
