Why is the word such a trigger for you that would you assault someone when black people have normalized it since the 90s? It’s immoral and illegal to assault people especially over a word that again has been normalized intentionally for decades in order to ā€œtake the power of the word awayā€

As a black man it’s not about saying the word, it’s the fact that you’re clearly using it as hateful energy. If I called you or your mom a bi*ch cracker whore you would get mad pretty quickly because the hate behind it. it’s still a slur šŸ’€ people in-community use it, which is a completely different dynamic from a privileged white person using it on a black person, especially depending on the context. why do y’all want to use slurs so badly…

Unfortunately that word will always hold power, the amount of power it holds depends on the individual person. But we really should be asking ourselves why it’s become so normalized to say it. You’re getting upset over someone’s reaction to being called a slur when you’re not even the slightest bit upset that someone is saying a slur to begin with. Your double standard is showing and it’s disgusting.

Stuff like this does not help. You’re only pushing the divide even deeper. We need to stop putting other races down and start lifting each other up. You posting this makes you no better than the racist people in these comments.

Anonymous replying to -> #10 13h

Why is it harder? You’re still talking about how a group of people view another group of people. Sure the numbers would say it would be harder for black people to instill some sort of systemic racism against white people but they can be just as racist as anyone else.

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #22 12h

its a minority vs a majority… lets take a moment and put on our thinking caps. systemic racism exists because white people still refuse to let people of color into positions of power to be able to change the systems that silence and control them. lets also take into consideration the ACTUAL definition of what racism entails: the belief, action, or systemic practice that one racial or ethnic group is superior to another, resulting in discrimination, oppression, and unequal treatment of others.

upvote 4 downvote
default user profile icon

now explain to me as if im a 5th grader how any person of color would have any want or ability to do those things to another group of people after experiencing them themselves

upvote 3 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #10 11h

You want me to explain to you why somebody would want to hate another group of people? Are you saying that poc are incapable of being racist to other ethnicities? People are people and can be evil regardless of race. Choosing to see one race as inherently more racist is somewhat racist itself. Sorry if that is over your head.

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #22 11h

ā€œas inherently more racistā€ as if that group of people didnt enslave another race of people for decades & isnt actively killing and deporting people based off the color of their skin. i truly wish i could be as ignorant as to forget the atrocities my ancestors committed & turn a blind eye to whats currently happening in our country. but maybe thats too far over your head

upvote 3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #10 8h

You are that ignorant though you’re forgetting what your cousins are doing right now and what your ancestors did. You think black people didn’t enslave black people in America? They did and thousands of the did. Thousands of native Americans enslaved black people too. Neither group had ever atoned for their participation in US slavery. Not to mention the massacres both groups did in the 1800s and are currently doing in the US. This is excluding the mass murder happening across SA, Africa n Asia

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #18 7h

i never said that slavery wasnt a sign of that time period nor that it was ok but what i am saying in regards to the initial post is that the MAJORITY which was and still is white people are way more racist to the MINORITY which in reality is any person of color. are we unable to read and comprehend context?? 😭

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #10 7h

I understand that you are still projecting the actions of a minority of white people onto the whole race.

upvote 0 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #10 7h

Lemme settle this. White people are historically more racist than Black people. Black people can still be racist, but in TODAYS world it is significantly less common. The difference is that White people are typically RAISED to be racist whereas Black people LEARN to be racist due to experiencing systemic racism and wanting to claim back some sort of ā€œpowerā€. Regardless, can we all just agree that racism is bad and none of us should participate in making it worse than it already is.

upvote 3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #22 7h

I believe that saying Black people cant be racist is just untrue. There’s more to the world than just Black and White people. Other races get hated on all the time by both and ignoring that is just pushing a false narrative even deeper.
