I’m this kind of feminist: I want a woman president or other power position, but not just because she’s a woman, but because she earned it.

Trying to figure out how it ties into feminism though. Like if they said that they’d support a female president/it sucks that societally we won’t vote for one yet, I’d get it. But “I’m this kind of feminist: I support meritocracy” is a bit disconnected. It’s not a bad sentiment, I just don’t really think they’re the same thing as this person does

Imagine if we could elect people without seeing them and only knowing what they stand for (you don’t know their gender obviously). I want a woman to win by her stance and not for social reasons

Well sure, but that is just supporting meritocracy (which is not a bad thing). Feminism is a different realm

Yes and no because I want a woman bc she can bring something different to the table than men but I don’t want any random woman just bc she’s a woman (like Kamala)

Gonna preface by saying humans are complex and I cannot tell you how you think/feel or how you should think/feel I think they’re just two fundamentally different concepts. You have higher regard for merit, which I think is normal for a good chunk of the populous. The feminist part comes in when you’re still happy if the person with the highest merit happens to be a woman. The ideas intersect intrinsically in most people, but aren’t quite interchangeable
