As someone who’s never been in a relationship, I hate to see how some of my friends treat their boyfriends. It’s none of my business, but I see/hear how good these men are to them. If someone treated me like that, I’d be so grateful. It makes me sad.

Some women take the man-hating bit too far, I agree. When I say I love a man or I do nice things for him or make sacrifices for him, people always say “ew why would you do that for a MAN” like because I love him?? And he’s a person too??

I do not understand how people can date someone who they don’t seem to empathize with as another person.

As a man who’s never been in a relationship, this post genuinely brought me to tears, since there are women who acknowledge the excessive man-hating ongoing. Y’all are so awesome 🥹

Agreed. Like why would someone want a one-sided relationship from either side??? :( My friend was talking about her boyfriend and from what it sounded like, he’s done literally everything for her. And apparently, he told her one of his dreams in life and she immediately shut it down because she didn’t like the idea of it and he just… agreed. It wasn’t even anything crazy and she wouldn’t let him have that ONE dream? When he’s done so much for her? It just bothered me.

That would bother me too, and I feel bad for the guy. If you’re not going to love your partner and support their dreams and put their needs above your own sometimes, why even bother dating?

Like simultaneously a “how can people be so shallow as to not care for their partner” thing but also a “if you seemingly dont see them as another equal person it’s really creepy to date them” thing

This applies to shitty dudes too to be clear but it’s also relevant to this topic

Aww yes there are definitely women out there who value and respect men. If you choose to start dating, never settle for disrespectful treatment just because it’s trending online! I always get downvoted when I say stuff like that but whatever

As a man who has been in a one sided abusive relationship, you couldn’t drag me outta there. I was where I thought I deserved to be. It was consistent, familiar, and the only attention I had received in years.
