
Why tf do you guys glamorize these times? There’s nothing aesthetic about the 1950s. Most of the people in the 1950s couldn’t afford those clothes either because they couldn’t get a paying job because of the color of their skin or they were not allowed in those businesses. There’s nothing “sexy” about the 1950s. And for the music part, half of the people who made music didn’t even get the credit that they deserve again because of the color of their skin.
You're romanticizing the 1950s without acknowledging that the style and music came from people who were excluded, exploited, or erased. Context matters. 🤷🏾♀️So no I don't want the clothes or the music because the ppl who invented it were mistreated, beaten, lynched, mocked, and excluded all because they were a different race.
