The way I think abt it a nonchalant person is just more monotone/stoic & doesn’t communicate much. One can be in control of their emotions while also being communicative though, ie they can present themselves in a more 3-dimensional way while being calm and in control of how they do that. I think the second style is better, but then again I am more of that second style and think well of myself
