As a girl I wasn’t allowed to have a lock or close the door if i closed it my mom would take the door off the hinges and then beat me out of my sleep

I think I’m lucky, my parent never come into my room, if they do they knock, and I always have my door shut and can lock it if I want

My house was really old and had crystal doorknobs so they didn’t lock, except for the front door

Since none of our doors locked we all just had an unspoken agreement that if someone’s door was closed you wouldn’t go in

Who knows she just had to have control and power. She wanted to be able to yell at 2AM to wake us up and clean. She said with doors closed we wouldn’t be able to hear her and if we didn’t hear her she will get angry and she would beat us
