i genuinely don’t understand why it’s not an option yet. like repeat sex offenders? after being castrated they can’t do what they used to and they can’t reproduce. problem (partially) solved.

itd be disastrous. not only a human rights violation, which every is entitled to even bad people. but also imagine when they eventually get out of jail or send someone to retaliate because now theyre mutilated. imagine a kid sends away an abuser and 6 years later they come back after that. what then? also what about people who are falsely accused or the states expand “sex offender” into classifying anything LGBT related like theyve been talking about? it does way more harm than good.

It… is though. It’s actually more a conundrum why it IS still on the books in countries like the US whose constitutions otherwise don’t allow torture or eugenics (though that answer still isn’t hard to figure out of course)

and even more than that rehabilitation is much more effective than revenge. thats an objective flaw about prison is that it doesnt try to help people who need help and instead pushes them further down. im not writing this out of sympathy for sex offenders, because i know someone will read this with two braincells and assume that. if u let the state start handing out punishments like this, its a slippery slope into many worse things for far less severe crimes.
