Once, I had a crush on this girl who sat next to me almost all semester, but I never made a move bc she hadn’t really said or done anything that made me think she liked me back, so not wanting to make her uncomfortable, I just kept it to myself. But one day, I put a bit more effort into my appearance, wearing a nice flannel to class for no particular reason. During class, she shyly told me my shirt was nice. That was all it took for my feelings for her to suddenly come back in full force.
I wont give all the details of what happened next, but skipping to the end: we’re coming up on our 3 year anniversary soon and our relationship couldn’t be stronger, and yet I think to myself often, that if it wasn’t for her making the decision to compliment my shirt that day, we might’ve never spoken again after that class ended, and I never would’ve known what I missed out on. The point I’m trying to make is, it’s worth putting yourself out there, you never know what it might result in.
He might have a crush on you like I did on my gf, and even if he doesn’t yet, as guys we rarely receive compliments like that, so you giving him one will probably be the highlight of his day and could even be what forms his crush on you. Even in the worst case scenario, he would probably just say thanks and move on with his day, there’s nothing to lose and everything to gain. I highly encourage you to try and feel free to ask for any other advice you may need. Good luck with this :)
