yeah, that’s fair too, i hope i don’t come across like i’m fearmongering or disapproving of casual sex. it’s a conversation that necessitates a lot of nuance and room for subjectivity

i think the bottom line for me is that, being in my early 30s myself, i wouldn’t want to hook up with someone under the age of 22 since i know their impression of me might be skewed overly positive based on the difference in respective life experience. i’d feel like i was using a form of power imbalance to my advantage

so i’m a bit wary of people my age not giving adequate thought to the power dynamic, and/or willfully utilizing it to get laid. but i also recognize that this concern of mine doesn’t necessarily mean someone’s being harmed every time there’s an age gap between sexual partners. (sorry to be so long-winded lol, just takes a lot of words to explain)
