Furthermore, God is omnipotent in capacity. God not intervening is the whole point of free will. We are just experiencing the consequences of our own decisions.

Also, prayer isn’t about what you’re supposed to get out of it, it’s about connection with God. Why should you expect things out of God when you make no effort to connect, or when you believe connecting is useless?

Again not true. Also again, prayer is not about usefulness. The fact you view it that way is why you probably don’t believe in God. The fact you keep saying prayer is about usefulness is telling that you have self serving motivations in your faith when the whole point is dethroning the self.

I already answered you on that. Prayer works when you believe and actually have a connection with God. But whether or not it works is not the point, that was never the motivation behind prayer. The point of prayer is to connect with God.

So the people who believe in god who pray for their loved ones to be cured of diseases or to get a better job opportunity, aren’t actually praying for those things? I’m confused why they don’t just connect with god by telling him they love him instead

I wish I had a special explanation to satisfy your sensibilities, but prayer is about connecting with God and the motivations with which you enter prayer. We can ask for stuff, but that’s not what it’s about, and maybe the things we ask for aren’t always guaranteed, or maybe the stuff we ask for isn’t the best and we don’t know it.
